The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 6 co-hosted a cooperative project as part of the Clean Star Texas City program to facilitate implementation of EPA's Risk Management Program. The Risk Management Program, required under section 112(r) of the Clean Air Act Amendments, is intended to assist facilities in their efforts toward accidental release prevention. This project, which took place April 12-16, 1999 in Texas City, Texas, consisted of auditing Risk Management Plans (RMPs) from participating industries using the draft version of EPA’s RMP Audit Guidance Manual.
