Description:

Tesoro Petroleum Corporation (Tesoro ) operates three petroleum refineries in the western U.S.. All three facilities will be subject to a number of new regulations being developed by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under the statutory authority of the Clean Air Act, as amended in 1990. This paper summarizes the requirements of these upcoming rules, discusses Tesoro’s options in meeting the proposed rules, presents potential process improvements used to comply with the rules, and presents a timeline of rule impacts. Although all information on these rules is current at the time of writing, changes will undoubtedly occur during rule development.
