Description:

In this paper, fleet test results evaluating John Deere Model 7700 farm tractor performance as a function of diesel fuel quality are presented. The test was conducted using six Model 7700 tractors, divided into two groups, with each tractor accumulating 1000 hours of operation under heavy load conditions. This represents approximately two to three years of field operation. The first group of tractors used unadditized base fuel as the test reference. The base fuel was a commercially available No. 2 Diesel fuel meeting ASTM D 975 specifications. The second group used a premium diesel fuel, Fieldmaster XL. The fleet test was conducted during the period December 1995 thru May 1996.
