Description:

About 100 years ago the oil producers of the world had great quantities of crude oil but limited markets for refined products. The Wright brothers didn’t get their airplane off the ground until 1903 and Mr. Ford didn’t finish his automobile assembly line until 1913. So there was little demand for avgas or gasoline. However, there was a significant demand for kerosene in the world. Kerosene as an illuminating oil that would be superior to the whale oils and vegetable oils used in lamps at that time.
