The properties of each Group III basestock slate are determined by the choiceof feedstock and manufacturing process. Each Group III base stock slate will respond differently to a particular PCMO formulation. Group II 5W-XX formulations can be optimized with Group III basestock. The right selection of Group III basestocks can minimize the usage of Viscosity Modifier in 5W-30 PCMO formulations.
