This compromise is about to change with the availability of high - performance, Group III+, synthetic hydrocarbon base oils to the global lubricants business. Novvi LLC uses synthetic biology, together with long-tested chemical processing technology, to deliver a range of the high - performance base oils that are also renewable and biodegradable and uses sugar as its key raw material. Use of Novvi's base oils will eliminate many or all of those compromises, depending on the application or product category.
