Description:

Mobil commercialized its first all-catalytic lube basestock plant at our Jurong, Singapore Refinery in June 1997. Process technology for this 8+ TBD (400,000 MT/year) world scale basestock facility is entirely Mobil-developed and consists of hydrocracking followed by MSDWTM * isomerization dewaxing. The performance of both the hydrocracking and MSDW catalysts since start up has been excellent, with three to four year cycles projected for both catalysts despite a widely varying crude slate. Jurong has consistently produced high quality Group II base oils since coming on stream and has gained rapid acceptance for the new products both by the Mobil lube system and third parties. Looking to the future, Jurong is considering Group III light neutral production (successful test run completed in 1998) and enhanced capabilities for medicinal and technical grade white oil manufacture.
