Energy and capital intensive units such as solvent dewaxing and solvent deoiling frequently limit lube and wax production in the refinery. Therefore, Mobil is pleased to share a suite of innovative membrane technologies, MAX-DEWAXÔ and MAXDEOIL Ô, to inexpensively debottleneck these manufacturing units. In this paper, we describe the MAX-DEWAX process including the demonstration unit and the commercialization unit. Also, we will briefly describe how the MAX-DEOIL technology can increase wax production for an in-line deoiler.
