Description:

Prior to their recent implementation of Haverly’s H/Gal-XE Gasoline Blend Scheduling system, The Co-op Refinery Complex (CRC) was only able to effectively plan and schedule gasoline blends and transfers four or five days in advance. The effort was simply too great to plan any further. Moreover, attempts to do so were often futile as because when something changed (not if but when) the entire effort had to be essentially restarted. H/Gal-XE has enabled CRC to project their gasoline operations several weeks into the future. In addition to providing a superb platform from which scheduling and blending information can now be analyzed, studied, manipulated, and reported – H/Gal-XE provides schedulers with automatically generated schedules. These schedules suggest a possible operation for meeting all planning objectives, while honoring operational limitations and product quality constraints. They also enable CRC to quickly adjust to unexpected situations, as well as take advantage of sudden opportunities. CRC’s use of H/Gal-XE to support its gasoline scheduling operation and planning will be presented in this paper.
