Description:

RCM has become an established concept among reliability philosophies. Even though the theory around RCM is interesting, RCM has proven extremely time consuming and complicated to implement. Followers of the RCM wave have tried to make it more simplified through "Streamlined RCM", "Blitz RCM" and "Turbo RCM." But even though results of RCM are good, it still takes too much time to become cost effective. However, there is an alternative to RCM that still uses common sense reliability concepts such as failure developing theories and criticality analysis. Developed in 1972, the concept still works like a charm. We call it common sense.
