RMC-10-23 Shared Leadership Model for Turnaround Excellence

Despite a decade of keen awareness, attrition of the experienced turnaround skill pool is now widespread; and the few that have not yet retired are being saddled with new (or additional) responsibilities required to run-and-maintain the facility. These two coincidental phenomenon have up-ended the historical approach to turnaround preparation and execution and have created an industry wide dilemma. This presentation addresses the question: “How to successfully transition from the historic experience “tribal knowledge” model to the current day “matrix organization” approach of preparing for and executing a turnaround?” The presenters will show that the Steering Team is the cornerstone of this shared leadership approach. Using both case study and industry intelligence, proven strategies and management behaviors essential to achieving an optimum level of organizational preparedness and delivering predictable competitive turnaround results will be discussed.
