Description:

Since the BP Texas City Refinery incident in 2005 resulted in 15 fatalities to workers housed in unsafe facilities, Facility Siting risk management has come to the forefront of the refining and petrochemical industries as an area of concern for OSHA and the CSB. This workshop will provide an overview of Facility Siting standards (API RP-752 and 753) that have been developed in the last few years, and will provide valuable information on how facilities can assure compliance, while at the same time creating business value by using its facilities infrastructure to gain competitive advantage in an ever-changing industry. For example, Facility Siting compliance work provides an opportunity for facilities to implement reliability focused maintenance programs, enhance turnaround support processes, and improve central and routine maintenance organizational performance.
