Description:

To support society’s drive for energy diversification, efficient and flexible solutions are required to produce high-quality renewable fuels from bio feedstocks (lipids). Due to the nature of lipids, this is challenging to do so in a cost-effective manner while also producing low carbon intensity renewable fuels. Recognizing the needs and challenges, CLG and Applied Research Associates (ARA) have developed an innovative and cost-effective technology, the Biofuels ISOCONVERSION Process (BIC). This presentation discusses how BIC overcomes the challenges and produces superior renewable fuels based on the combination of ARA’s feed Hydrothermal Cleanup and Catalytic Hydrothermolysis technologies, with CLG’s ISOCONVERSION technology. BIC technology features and benefits are explained relative to other processing routes and how BIC’s sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) has been validated as suitable for jet fuel replacement.
