2008 Q&A and Technology ForumSunday, October 5 - Wednesday, October 8, 2008 Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate 1500 Masters Blvd [map] ChampionsGate, FL 33896-5312 |
The registration period for this meeting has ended.
In 2008 the Q&A and Technology Forum program has three major components to give attendees one of the industry's most comprehensive meetings on refinery operations and process technology. The 2008 Program is currently in the planning stages. Check back to this site for updates. To get an idea of what's in store, you can review the 2007 Final Program by clicking on the link below under Related Files.
The Q&A Sessions on Hydroprocessing, FCC, Crude/Vacuum Distillation & Coking, and Gasoline Processes feature panels of industry experts from refining companies and technology providers who respond to questions and engage attendees in a discussion of today's tough issues.
The Principles & Practices(P&P) sessions on Energy Management, Hydroprocessing, FCC, Crude/Vacuum Distillation & Coking, and Gasoline Processes are discussion-oriented sessions, primarily designed for the engineer whose overall operating experience is less than 20 years. The P&P sessions complement the information exchange that occurs in the Q&A sessions. Each of the sessions addresses the fundamentals of good operation and the foundational principles for the technologies that are commonly employed. These sessions have short presentations followed by a time where attendees can ask further questions or present their own particular problems and benefit from the collective experience of the other attendees.
The Plant Automation & Decision Support sessions will address the latest developments in process control, process automation, and the supporting information technology systems.
Back for a second year is the Cyber Security Roundtable which will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 7. This session will be tailored to the specific network security needs for the refining and petrochemical industries.
The 2008 Q&A and Technology Forum program will emphasize Process Safety and its primary importance in plant operations and design. Each session will include questions or presentations on proven practices for improving process safety.
The conference will also include networking functions sponsored by catalyst, chemical and technology companies which facilitate face-to-face contact with key industry experts.
