Post-Conference Refining Technology Seminars
- Individual seminar times may vary. Contact host company for more information via emails listed below. Hydrogen Plant Seminar and Q&A presented by Süd-Chemie a Clariant Group Company The seminar is designed to provide useful knowledge and key understanding to engineers, operators, and other key stakeholders of hydrogen plants. This seminar also includes an overview of designs, feedstocks, and hydrogen purity. Steam methane reforming, reactions, types of reformers, and reforming catalysts: thermodynamics and kinetics, operation, loading, startup, shutdown, monitoring performance/troubleshooting. Attendees will have an excellent opportunity to ask questions, network, and most importantly, share best practices. Lunch provided. For more information contact Mary Minor at Süd-Chemie.* Fundamentals of Heavy Crude Oil Processing, presented by Baker Hughes This seminar is designed for refinery engineers who want to expand their knowledge of the challenges brought about when processing heavy crude oils in refinery processing units. Changes in feedstock quality, in particular heavier crude oils, can have substantial impacts on refinery processing as well as refinery profitability. Challenges can arise as early as feed storage systems, carry through to crude unit preheat and desalting systems and also impact equipment corrosion. In response to these challenges, this seminar provides a clearer understanding of methods to diagnose and manage the increased risks. Topics will include: Crude Storage and Pretreatment Fundamentals; Heavy Crude Desalting Strategies and Troubleshooting; Wastewater Treatment Plant Impacts and Mitigation; Heat Exchanger and Furnace Fouling Risks and Fouling Control; Overhead System Corrosion Issues and Mitigation; and High Temperature Corrosion Risk Assessment and Mitigation. For more information contact Rachel Verbit at Baker Hughes.* *The company providing the seminar will determine and apply their own registration policies. |
